About Me

As the Chinese proverb goes:

When planning for a year, plant corn. When planning for a decade, plant trees. When planning for life, train and educate people.

Guanzi (c.645 BCE)

Lifelong learning is such an important part of the rapidly changing modern-day world. When I was young, home computers were just starting to become popular, and it put me on a path to study Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at university. While at university, the Internet started to enter people’s homes as the World Wide Web started to grow. Throughout the 25 years I spent in the telecommunications industry, I saw a lot of innovations and technology come to the fore.

Now I am embarking on a new learning journey, returning to university as a postgrad to study education and learn how to inspire the next generation on their own life-long learning adventure. My specialty will be in maths and physics, which provide some key tools needed to learn about the world we live in.

This blog is to capture some of the many things that take my interest. It will cover a range of topics such as education, technology, amateur radio, photography, music and whatever else takes my fancy. I hope you may find something of interest to yourself here, and look forward to reading your comments.
